Our second time staying at Driftwood and we were not disappointed. The new beach bar had not opened at the time but it looked superb. Can’t wait to go back

Another vote for ‘stunning’. Having never stayed twice at the same place, we will definitely return to Driftwood. A superbly designed and equipped property - right down to towels and snorkels for the beach. Spotlessly clean and very comfortably furnished. Apart from a quick blast on arrival, the fact that we hardly touched the aircon during what has been a particularly hot spell is testament to the property design and efficiency of ceiling fans. Faults? Let me think ... sorry, none.

What a wonderful Villa, it is everything you would expect. Located a short walk to Mullins beach it has everything you'll need, I was even able to watch the amazing world Cup Cricket Final in the comfort of the TV room! There are other wonderful beaches nearby so would suggest hiring a car. All the local information you'll need is in a comprehensive "users guide" including taxi firms, hire cars, beaches, restaurants etc. Monika and Julie are both wonderful and very friendly. Monika kept the Villa spotless and Julie was on hand if you needed any other help. Couldn't fault it and will be staying again. Many thanks for a wonderful stay, we really didnt want to leave!! Another year and another stay at this wonderful house and this year there was a BBQ, which just completes the house. Monica is amazing as ever and keeps the place spotless. The house is a great place to stay on this wonderful island, everything you need is there with the added bonus of a sonos speaker, a home away from home. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I, along with my 20 year-old grandson and his girlfriend stayed in this villa for two weeks in March. This is the third house in this area of Barbados that we have rented and by far the best. It is airy, spacious, simply but beautifully decorated, and very well equipped. The beds and seating are comfortable. The linens and towels are top notch, and the place is kept immaculately clean by Monica and Amanda. Unlike other houses I have rented in the Caribbean, I never saw a a critter of any kind inside, not even an ant. Amazing fans keep the entire house cool and we almost never used the air conditioning. Julie, the house manager, was attentive and helpful in so many ways. To make it even more attractive, it is very reasonably priced as villas of this size in this area tend to be expensive. The terrace and pool provide both shaded and sunny places to dine and hang out and are very private.
A short drive by car or bus will take you to Holetown or Speightstown for grocery shopping and restaurants. It's a short walk to two beaches perfect for swimming, but unlike houses right on the beach it is far enough away from the coastal road so there is no traffic noise.
We loved it so much that we have already rented it for next year.

Having stayed here in the past I can only reaffirm what a stunning villa this is. The owner James has ensured that the ultra high standards are maintained by keeping on top of every minute detail. The whole house has been repainted to keep that freshness, new sun loungers, simple things like renewing towels etc that keep the place tip top. James even asks us to find fault in order to try to improve, we simply can not fault it. Everything is immaculate or brand new, plates, cutlery, utensils, bathrooms, bedding is simply immaculate. I believe the whole house is furnished by ‘The White Company’ so you can gauge the standard of furnishings. It really is immaculate. Do not change a thing !

This is a gorgeous home situated in the perfect area for an island getaway. My wife and I LOVED our stay. The food was amazing, the home and beds and furnishings were very comfortable and we cannot wait to go back again. Definitely go down to Mullins Beach bar (walking distance) for a sunset drink! This is an amazing vacation rental. One of the best we've ever stayed in. Thanks for having us!

Wonderful time at Driftwood in August. Stunning villa, beautifully decorated, great sized bedrooms and living areas. Outdoor pool perfect for relaxing by, or short hop, skip and a jump down to Mullins beach bar, perfect for sunset drinks!

I can't add much more to the other excellent reviews of Driftwood, other than to say that we found this to be quite simply the perfect beach house. It really was even better than we hoped for based on the pictures and descriptions. Driftwood is a beautiful house, perfectly clean, maintained and equipped. The 3 large bedrooms and 4th bedroom/den are perfect for a large or extended family or friends. The open kitchen is clean, bright and filled with everything we needed and more. We spent wonderful evenings relaxing by the pool and in the covered patio/dining area, which opens up to the house with elegant folding doors - indoor/outdoor living at its best! All this, with an easy three minute walk to Mullins beach with its outstanding bar, restaurant, watersports and snack bar. We only hope Driftwood doesn't become so popular that it's not available next time we want to visit!

Driftwood was everything we wanted and more. This was our 5th visit to Barbados, and this is the best place we have found (we have stayed in hotels and villas) The villa is very well thought out, providing everything you could possibly need. James was very helpful throughout, from booking through to his very detailed guest guide. Previous villas we have rented, have been a little dated. Not Driftwood! Its tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and very well thought about, and all the linen is super soft! (all from The White Company) Great addition of the Sonos, and the outdoor living area is perfect. We stayed with a toddler, who was very well catered for, with a high chair and plastic cups and plates etc. Location wise, we loved it, a quiet road, a very short walking distance to Mullins Beach (bar!) We did have a car so we could venture further. Thank you James for a fabulous holiday, and for your excellent communication throughout. Monica the cleaner is a star, keeping the place immaculate. Julie was also really helpful. So thank you to all. We are already looking at when we can return

Amazing house with everything you need for the perfect relaxing holiday, close to Gibbs beach for the most spectacular blue seas and peace and quiet; or if you have children and like busy then Mullins beach is for you. Get a yellow bus to Holetown and Speightstown and Mullins beach bar to watch the sun go down. Monica the housekeeper is so lovely and keeps the place amazing. The pool is just right and the sonos system was a home away from home. The only thing missing is a BBQ. We booked to return before leaving!!!!

We have stayed in the Mullins area several times before but staying at Driftwood was the best experience to date. The house layout works very well for sharing and we loved the open plan living/kitchen area. Perfect location for the beach & bus to all parts of the island. We have already booked to return, can't wait!

Driftwood villa is simply stunning! We stayed here on our third trip to Barbados and it was our first staying at Driftwood. The location was fantastic, just a few minutes stroll to Mullins beach, with (in my opinion!) one of the very best beach bars on the island. The villa itself was spotless, extremely modern and well maintained. We’ve stayed in a few different properties on a similar budget but none have been as bright, well-kept and high quality as Driftwood. The open-plan, indoors/outdoors way of living that it enables with its huge folding patio doors was fantastic and we felt so relaxed and at home at the property. The kitchen is well-equipped if you want to eat at home rather than out all the time and there was a decent wifi connection, which was good for us who are self-employed and needed to do some work. The pool is a good size and we even saw monkeys in the garden while lazing about in the afternoons! Monica the cleaner was very thorough and attentive yet unimposing during her visit to give the place a spruce – she’s a great character to have a natter to about the island! We had a hire car and found all we needed within a short drive but there was also bus stops close by. Mullins Beach Bar is a must-visit for music on a Sunday night but we also enjoyed the peace and calm of Gibbs Beach, which was only a few minutes walk away. For eating out, I would recommend Bombas, which is run by a lovely local family, right on the beach-front and is just a few minutes walk away. James was really helpful during the whole process – booking was smooth and he was very prompt to reply. We only had a week here and it was definitely too short! I would definitely recommend Driftwood villa and staying in this area of the island. I can’t wait to return!

We have found our little bit of paradise at Driftwood! Our first visit to Barbados and so the information in the villa on restaurants and places to see was very useful.Stunning villa and very helpful Julie ( who greeted us) and Monica who kept everywhere spotless. Many happy evenings in the pool and a fantastic Sunday eve at Mullins beach bar ( not to be missed) . New owner James has maintained the same superb standard that we have read about in previous reviews. Cant wait for a repeat visit!

There is nothing to add to what's already been said. The house is wonderful and the service impeccable. Not to mention the location and value for money. Next time we return to Barbados. The first place we'll look to book is Driftwood.

Let me start by thanking you for such an outstanding property, We could not fault anything, we had the best time ever. Monica the house keeper does an amazing job and is such a special lady, also thanks to Julie the House Manager she was very helpful and always on hand. We found a little beach 10 mins down the road where we swam with wild turtles, they came in realy close to shore AMAZING. The local people are also amazing, very friendly and welcoming. Thank you again for making our holiday so special.

Driftwood is absolutely Perfect!! After 10 years of visiting Barbados we have never found a house so affordably beautiful. Monica keeps everything immaculate and manages that without being intrusive. The pool and gardens are a pleasure to be in. We had 14 days of pure bliss and have already booked for next year! Being hoteliers we are naturally very fussy and this is the first property we have returned to. The beds are comfy as is the wonderful indoor/outdoor seating and with the high ceilings and fantastic fans we didn't need the air-con at all. Great fridge/freezer with an ever supply of ice cubes and ice cold water. All of the bedrooms are a lovely size and the whole house feels very spacious and cool. Driftwood feels very safe and secure and is in one of the most beautiful areas of Barbados with Mullins beach bar a 2 minute walk away as well as the bus route for those that don't want a car. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this property and although we always look forward to our January holiday it is even more exciting to know that we are coming back here :-)

I don't want to repeat previous reviews which are absolutely spot on,this house is perfect in every way,anyone that can find a fault is a better man than me. Julie and Monica deserve all the praise that is given to them. LOOK NO FURTHER than this house.

Absolutely stunningly decorated family villa. Very contemporary and clean, thanks to the amazing housekeeper(Monica). Fantastic location, only a few minutes walk from the beach, really could not recommend it enough. Fantastic value and a beautiful experience, we would have no hesitancy in visiting Driftwood again (and again!).

Firstly I must say that Robin, the owner of Driftwood, has built a fantastic looking property. The description of the house is spot on and it looks even better. The house is in a quiet, lovely location not far from Mullins beach and near to Speightown where you find Banks, supermarket and shops. On arrival at Driftwood we where met by a lovely young lady called Julie, as promised, she showed us everything we needed to know about the house. We were introduced to Monica the Housekeeper who keeps the house looking immaculate inside and out. Every room in the house was spotless even the garage. The Gardener keeps grounds immaculate.The owner has very thoughtfully provided everything you could need for a self-catering holiday which makes it feel like a home away from home We have stayed at several properties in Barbados over the years and Driftwood is top of our list, the house was perfect for me and my family of 4 adults in every way. I can not fault Driftwood and would recommend this lovely house to anyone.

I could not believe my luck when I found this property on Owners Direct as I needed a property to suit an elderly disabled person. When we arrived at Driftwood, the pictures on the website were exactly what we walked into , a fab airy property. The property was kept clean by Monica, who can provide local information. Driftwood is in walking distance to the beach and the local buses that only cost 2 dollars and you can go anywhere. In the evenings Driftwood is ideal to comeback to,too chillax after a hard day exploring with a few rum punches. Since I have been back in the UK I have been recommeding this property to anyone who will listen to me and dreaming of the day I can visit again. Thanks Robin for a absolutely beautiful villa.

If like me, you have whiled away the hours on Owners Direct & Homeaway looking for the perfect (affordable) holiday rental in Barbados - you will know what a task this can be…. I felt confident about Driftwood from the off. Robin was friendly and helpful and we chatted on the phone a couple of times before our trip. When we arrived at the house, it was exactly as I’d imagined, but somehow even more beautiful, with a true homely feel. The location of this house is fabulous, in a very well to do & picturesque neighbourhood and within a short stroll of Mullins Beach and the lovely Mullins Beach Bar. The whole atmosphere in this part of the island is relaxing and serene. The house itself is stunning from the inside out…..it is very contemporary but with traditional Bajan features. It is glamourous but not OTT, and the design is perfect for sociable open plan holiday living. The furnishings are incredibly tasteful and of very high quality. Fantastic new appliances, beautiful linen, bone china crockery, and enough cookware & utensils to host a dinner party - absolutely everything has been considered. The outside area is wonderful including the covered dining and relaxation area. The pool is a fantastic asset to this lovely house. The house is maintained by a great team headed up by Julie. Monica visits every 3 days and does an amazing job keeping the place spotless. Robin has obviously put a great deal of effort into designing and furnishing Driftwood, and it really shows. Many holiday rentals appear to be furnished with 2nd best or cast-offs which can disappoint the holiday maker. This house is furnished as a luxury home, and it deserves the respect of such a home from everyone who has the pleasure of enjoying it. I would not hesitate in recommending this house to friends, family and colleagues and we are currently trying to organise to return again next year - in summary as the title of my review suggests - stop looking, you’ve found it…..this is it!

Driftwood was every part the perfect holiday home, it had everything a family needed to have a stress free stay. Robin the owner of Driftwood was very helpful at all times. On arrival Julie the house manager and Monica who looks after the house were there to meet us and were so welcoming and made us feel right at home and were more than happy to help us with our bags, Monica was very helpful with local information on Barbados. When we found this little treasure on owner direct we were concerned that the pictures were to good to be true but is beautiful in every way. Mullins beach is only a five minute walk, if that, the locals are more than welcoming, there are a lot of water sports for the family to do, and if you would prefer to stay on the beach there is plenty for one to do. Driftwood was perfect in every way but what made it even more special was the company of a family of green monkeys everyday we were they. We haven't stopped talking about how amazing Driftwood is, so we would highly recommend and can't wait to visit again

We had an amazing stay at Driftwood. Robin, the owner was really efficient, and responds to e-mails quickly and the housekeeper, Julie, was great too. We were concerned that the photos looked too good to be true, but in reality they didn't do the house justice. It is really beautiful and has been loving restored. It is perfectly equipped and everything in the house is high quality. It is in a great location, quiet, but close to the beach. Can't wait to visit again.

What an amazing villa!! We arrived and were met by Julie who was lovely and extremely helpful. She showed us round the villa and gave us all the information we needed for the duration of our stay. The villa itself was in the perfect location, it only took about 2 minutes to walk down to Mullins Beach which was great. There is plenty to do on the beach, there are sun loungers, watersports and a great beach bar which also serves food. The faciltities in the villa were fantastic, it had everything we needed and everything was in perfect condition. The pool was lovely and clean and a great benefit during the hot midday sun! The layout of the villa was great, it has a very open and social feel to it and the bi-folding doors which open out on to the patio are really effective. I just have to mention the ceiling fans, they are the most effective fans we have ever come accross in Barbados. They kept the whole villa cool all day and we hardly had to use the air conditioning at all. On one of the days we were there, a family of monkeys came and sat along the villa wall, it was amazing watching them all collecting their mango's. So, in case you hadnt already guessed, we would highly recommend this villa and cant wait to go back.
